Methodology
Business and trade reporting starts from filings, order book disclosures and official statistics releases rather than from company press material, and we say when a figure is a company estimate rather than an audited number.
Policy reporting works from the published document: the budget line, the consultation paper, the committee transcript. Where an official has spoken on background we describe the role and the setting rather than inventing a name for the quotation.
Translation is done in house. Where a term has no clean English equivalent we give the original sense in a clause rather than forcing a misleading single word.
